Beneficiaries

Each year the race generates funds which are dispersed to local groups, individuals and projects to improve lives, support diversity and inclusion and promote involvement in community projects.

2024 Beneficiaries

Midshires Search and Rescue

Midshires Search and Rescue is the Lowland Rescue search and rescue organisation covering Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.  Their role is to support the Police services with specialist ground search capability for high risk missing persons.  Purely voluntary, significant costs and an increase in missing persons MSR are kept busy.

Veterans Club

A small local group of 60 Veterans of all ages who regularly meet up socially.  T10 funds have paid for a year’s worth of exercise classes.  An additional amount has been donated to cover the cost of a trip to London to celebrate VE and VJ 80th anniversary.

Monday Club

Always smiling and jolly The Monday Club patrons, adults with learning difficulties, have made their own community over decades.  The Monday Club enjoy the most fantastic days out and activities.  The Monday Club perfectly fits into the original ethos of the T10 race.  The Monday club also offer volunteer roles for local students to complete DofE.

Savi Scout (Watford Charities Trust)

A one off fundraising event, Watford Hospital trust raised £200,000 for a new Savi Scout machine helping with diagnosis and identification of breast cancer.

 

This charity is specifically raising funds for Breast Cancer treatment.  A quote from Cancer research Uk states “There are around 56,800 new breast cancer cases in the UK every year, that's more than 150 every day (2017-2019)”.  The disease affects both women and men.  New technology and medical advances help to diagnose and effectively treat Breast Cancer.  Savi Scout is just that – it is a state-of-the-art surgical guidance system that utilises radar technology to precisely target and remove cancerous tissue during surgery improving recovery outcomes.  

The fundraising drive was so successful the machine was purchased early 2025.

Abbots Langley Flower Arranging Club

The Tough10 provided funds to assist with the costs of running this skills based social group who provide a regular meet up for local horticultural enthusiasts.   ALFAS offer “entertainment, education and friendship”  enhancing their skill with professional demonstrators.  ALFAS regularly support local events with floral displays.

Breakspear School

Does fantastic work with young people with severe learning and physical difficulties to continue to thrive in Abbots Langley.

Personal Trophies

The Tough Ten have been continually supported by many key people over the years.  In recognition of these special relationships we have personal trophies that are awarded annually within certain criteria.
