ABBOTS LANGLEY TOUGH TEN RACE HELD ON SUNDAY, 2nd OCTOBER 2011
 

What a fantastic day!
The weather was brilliant, there was a great number of runners and more spectators than we have seen for years!
247 runners finished the 10K, 115 the 5K, 63 the 3K and 62 the 1.5K.  Thank you all for supporting the 29th Tough Ten and we hope you will join us for the 30thon Sunday, October 7th, 2012.
Our usual thanks go to our main sponsors, M.K.Ginder& Sons, along with Spicer McColl, Langley Travel, Sweeney’s Budgens, Spar, Rapid Tool Hire, Simon East Butchers, Viceroy Brasserie, Gregory and Davis,  Over the Moon, Velvet Jewellers and Hairshare.  Particular thanks this year to Nik Allen at My NewsMag for his support in designing and producing the new logo, entry and sponsorship forms and all banners promoting the event.
Obviously the weather had a lot to do with the day’s success, but thanks to the help of Debra Geard, we had more local schools seriously committed to the day.  We look forward to their sponsorship monies swelling the funds and, don’t forget, that the schools each receive 50% of the money that they raise.
Our thanks also go to all the people who helped with issuing tickets, registration on the day and typing all the results, which is often a nightmare task.  Thanks also to all the marshals, without whom we could not run the race.
Of course, we couldn’t forget to thank Graham Taylor, who once again was with us presenting medals and trophies and generally joining in the fun atmosphere of the day with his usual good humour.  Thank you, Graham. We know the runners appreciate your presence as much as the committee.
